I spent quite a long time deliberating over Moo’s Easter dress. I had seen beautiful fabrics via Australian pages but I couldnt get the ones I wanted. Then I found this Moda fabric advertised. Its a gorgeous japanese cotton. I bought the coordinating floral and found a cute spotty fabric in a local haberdashery.
I bought the first edition of the “One Thimble” magazine on the day that it was released. However, I hadn’t yet tried anything from it. I kept seeing beautiful the Bo Peep party dresses (by Ainslee Fox Boutique Patterns for One Thimble) and decided that was the one I wanted to make after far too much deliberation!
The dress is trimmed with vintage lace hem and detailing on the waist. This pattern was absolutely fabulous to follow. I thoroughly enjoyed making it. The fit is good, the finish is good, and its stunning.
I slightly modified the sash, as I didn’t want a visible wrong side. But I decided this as I was making it, so only had the pattern width of fabric. Next time, I would double it so that the bow is still as wide and fabulous as the pattern design but finished the whole way round.
Moo massively approved of it’s twirl factor, particularly when we teamed it with her fluffliest pettiskirt.
She finished the outfit off with a handmade egg collecting bag, beautiful handmade pearl bracelet and fluffy bunny ears. Just right for her Easter egg hunt, so she thought!
